It’s the time of year when I get the opportunity to take part in some lovely summer Art & Craft events. These are not only great days out, but an opportunity to buy local, totally handmade goods and meet the creator too. I always enjoy not only selling at these events but being a customer too.
Here’s some details of three that are coming up soon.
Bazaar & Nothing New: this event combines the regular Bazaar with the yearly Nothing New fair. So it’ll be a unique mash up of locally made products alongside preloved, recycled and upcycled goods. It’s taking place in the beautiful Garden at The Minories Saturday 27th May. I’m being totally greedy and have my prints on the Made in Colchester stall and some bits on a Nothing New stall too! I make Fun Stuff: this event is a Craft and Vintage market taking place in Ipswich Town Hall. I’ve taken part in many of I Make Fun Stuff’s fairs before and they are always fantastic; busy and full of exciting stuff. Usually I end up coming home with armfuls of things I have bought! This is their first fair on a Saturday and in the front part of the town hall so it looks to be a good one. Find out more here.
St Botolph’s Big Sunday: this is a massive event that is growing every year. It takes part across the St Botolph’s cultural quarter of Colchester and involves many music stages, street food, performances and much more! Made in Colchester have been asked to arrange stalls in the Minories garden featuring locally made art and craft with the backdrop of a lovely live music stage. Find out more here.
