This is my brand new print , finished in time for Easter, called Spring Blooms. I wanted to share a little bit of the story behind this print and why all money raised from sales of the print will be donated to St Helena Hospice in Colchester.
Just a few weeks back I lost my Mum. She was a big supporter of my artwork and had a house full of my prints. She would often help me out at craft fairs and was always interested in what I was working on.
This print was the last one we discussed as an idea, while she was in hospital around February/ March time. It features flowers gathered from both of our gardens.
Here’s how it started in my sketchbook:
And a few pics of the printing process:
Usually all of my prints are limited edition, but this print is an open edition so there is no limit to the number of copies available.
It is printed with black oil based ink and the colour is added once the ink is dry using watercolour.
All the money raised from the sale of Spring Blooms will be donated to St Helena Hospice in Colchester who provided the most outstanding care for my mum. Hence, why I don’t want to limit the copies available as I would like to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity.
Prints are available through my Etsy shop-
